Back-to-School Countdown!

I don't know about my boys but I am counting down the days until they return to school.  10 Days left of summer!  I'm sorry but I am not one of those moms that will be sad when the school bus pulls away.  They NEED school.  They need routine and summer boardem has set in big time.  I think they are even tired of video games.

Supplies are purchased, backpacks are ready.  We should be finding out who their teachers will be this week.  Puck will be going into 3rd grade and Muffin into 1st.  It's truly amazing to when you stop and take notice of just how much time has passed!

I will admit to some anxiety about what that also means....because in addition to school starting the following also starts...

busiest time of the year at my job

baseball

soccer

CCD

homework, I really hate homework Shh....

Hubs will be traveling with his new job so a lot of this will fall to me.  I'll miss my partner but I'm up for the challenge.  We definitely won't be board!!!

Mid-Year Resolutions

I guess it's really past mid but I've been thinking about all the changes I really want to make in my life.  New years resolutions usually don't stick so maybe mid-late year ones will!

Here are my wishes, in no particular order...

Eat Fresh, unprocessed food

Get my kids do eat LESS processed food

Learn to love cooking and do it better

Pack my lunch daily

Lose weight, even just a little

Go to bed with a clean kitchen every night

Go to bed earlier

Spend more time reading at night with my kids

Drink more water and less soda (and no I can't give it up)

Go on more dates with the Hubs

These seem doable to me.  I think I'll hit the grocery store tonight to get my ingredients for my The Fresh 20 lunch plans I just purchased.  I actually purchased the dinners too but as a non-cooker I'm not sure I'm ready for that.  Since Hubs cooks most of the dinners, I'll concentrate on eating better during the day.

Saying 'Goodbye' to summer.  The boys on our last day at the beach!
